Pumpkin Patch

We went to a new pumpkin patch this year and without Sydney's good friend Clover because her mama was having a baby boy! Sydney and Clover are 2 weeks apart and now Shane and Fig are 4 1/2 months apart! I hope these boys are as good of buddies as the girls are! Anyway, we went to Fall City Farms and it wasn't as much fun as in the past. I'm thinking it was because it was a weekday and not the weekend so everything wasn't up and running! We still have next weekend to go one more time because I would love to do the hayride and I heard there is live music as well!

Sydney was without a nap and was extremely tired but did really well anyway. She was lifting pumpkins and walking with them like a champion :) She was exhausted by the end! Shane did a great job as well, but I'm thinking he needs to wait for next year to carry anything!
Shane was a little tired too!

Her first find...but she put this one back before the end to trade it in for a mini pumpkin!
Daddy was having a little trouble smiling and balancing at the same time!
He has a hard time capturing good angles and moments with Sydney and me as well!
We told Sydney if she wanted more than one pumpkin she would have to carry it and lift it in to the wheel barrel all by herself...and so

She did such an awesome job and she was so determined and tired by the end!

And then we went out to eat because I wanted nothing to do with cooking after a day at the pumpkin patch!!

So close...

Shane was so close to rolling over today! He had both feet over and his hips...he just couldn't get over that right shoulder! It was so cute :) I can't wait until he's more active so he gets more tired and then possibly sleeps longer at night. This no sleep is getting old fast. I thought he was going to be a great sleeper...he was sleeping for 6 hour stretches about a month ago and then two3 hour ones and it was awesome. Now I'm lucky if I get a 4 hour stretch and then he's up every 2 hours. I did have a little dairy yesterday that was in a gluten free cupcake at a party....I was hoping and praying for less allergies with him as well. Only time will tell. Just going to post more pictures, could be related or not but downloaded them from my small digital that I misplaced for a while and so here they are!
Anyway, pictures wouldn't upload. I'll try again tomorrow :)

Pictures from September & October 2011

Love Shane and his laugh...
It's hard work to get them both to smile at the same time....ugh

Sydney loves sitting with Shane! Her baby she calls him, well and Bean Bean and BuggaBoo
So proud!

Starting Now and not trying to catch up

I decided that I'm not going to try and catch everyone up with everything that's been going on. It will take too long and I will also not be able to stick to getting it done!
A few days ago Shane said "Mom" for the first real time! Well, he said something that sounded like it a few weeks ago, but I honestly think it was just a M sound and since he was trying to get to his milk supply and was trying to eat through my shirt it sounded like it! But for real, on October 12, he said it over and over again! It was great. Sydney said Dada first so I'm so happy my little boy said Ma first :)
Sydney is in gymnastics at The Little Gym and loves it. She already moved up to the 3 year old class and is doing so well! She is great at the balance beam, bars and somersaults!   She is able to listen to the music and follow directions like a pro :)
Shane is doing really well too! He sleeps pretty well each night but seems to not like it when I eat wheat, just like Sydney....not excited about that. BUT he has the cutest laugh and he reaches for me now! He is very interested in toys and is engaged and observant just like our little Turkey!

Halloween is just around the corner and we are very excited. Shane will be a silly Monkey and Sydney will be Angelina Ballerina (she kept going back and forth between that and Dora but once we ordered the costume she had no choice!) Ok, off to watch a movie. Bye for now!

Shane's First Day-May 29, 2011

Almost a year later...

Shane Joseph was born on May 29, 2011 and is such a blessing to our family! He was 7 lbs. 9ozs and 20 inches long! Born via c-section and a perfect recovery...of course our time in the hospital was a little different. My father came in from NY almost a full week early and was such an amazing help with Sydney! I was able to rest and get things ready for the new addition! May 29th was a Sunday...Memorial Day weekend. Saturday I got really sick with the stomach flu. It was horrible. The Dr. told me not to eat anything cause it would just come right out one way or another....plus I already wasn't allowed to eat 8 hours before surgery so this was going to be really exciting....yeah, right......so I was weak, sick and only allowed water and nothing once the 8 hours before the surgery began. Well, I was feeling better so I knew that everything was going to be just fine and I was super excited to meet my little boy. Sunday morning my father woke up at 1:30am and was running to the bathroom non-stop. Awesome, right? NOT. Well, I got up at 5:30 to shower and get everything ready....then Marty got sick a little after 6am,oh things were going so so great, let me tell ya! Well, we were lucky that they let Marty into the hospital at this point because he hadn't thrown up yet so they weren't too concerned...well, a little but they let him stay with me. Into surgery we went and after I was numb from neck to toes and the Dr. was minutes away from cutting the baby out Marty says he's gonna be sick. The nurse gets a bucket and they both go out of the OR and he lets it go....great! Well he came back inside and was with me during surgery and was right by my side! Yeah, Shane came out and as Marty took that first look at him, with all the fluids on him and everything, he headed out the door again....and threw up again....so this is now the second child and the second time something has happened in the OR! (With Sydney he had to pass the video camera to the nurse and sit down because he felt like he was going to faint.) He was a trooper though! Right after getting back to my room, Papa and Sydney were there to meet Shane! She was wonderful. It was great to have my Dad there too :) But they asked them all to leave for the health of all the other patients....so Marty was not able to spend the first two nights with me at the hospital like he was able to with Sydney. Bummer. Yeah. Totally. I was exhausted at the end of the time there and couldn't wait to get home. It was nice to have help with the baby besides paging the nurses to come and rescue me for a little while. BUT four months later and everything is great. Sydney is an amazing big sister and Shane is such a cutie pie :) I'm going to try to blog again. Maybe if I do it more often with more pictures and less words it won't be so bad! **Christy

Time went FAST

It's been forever since I've updated everyone...I knew I wouldn't be good at this :)~ I'm going to give it another shot though!

Sydney is doing so well! She is as amazing as ever and learning new things everyday. She must have a few hundred words in her vocabulary already. The other day she opened a book flap and said "trumpet" to the little boy that was playing the trumpet...I don't remember teaching her that and Marty said he did either so....hmmm, no idea where she got that one from :)
She is climbing all over everything, is more independent, not wanting help eating at all anymore, and loves all her baby dolls. She is such a good little girl. She even puts herself in timeout when she feels she has done something wrong...crazy little turkey!
She was potty training for about two weeks at 20 months but once those pull-ups went on she started using them! And it hasn't been the same since. Of course I lost my motivation as well so who's to blame? :)
I am loving that Marty is now working the day shift at the hospital. It gives us more quality time together at night, although some of it is lost since he has so much work to do for his Master's program. I just can't wait until school is over for him...like 18 months to go or something.
